Sand Filter Service
If you notice your pool water isn’t as clean, or the interval between backwashes is becoming shorter, it may be time for a sand filter service!
Pool owners love sand filters because they’re common, easy to use, and inexpensive. With sand filters, pool water is pulled into a filter and pressed through the sand, removing unwanted debris. Once the water has been filtered, it’s released back into the pool. Surprising as it may seem, sand is a highly effective agent in filtering out unwanted particles in your pool water.
Sand filters should be deep cleaned regularly with the circulation system running. You’ll also want to replace the sand every three to seven years.
As the filter continually traps debris, it becomes clogged with dirt and particles. You should backwash your filter once the pressure gauge indicates about 10 pounds of backpressure, though backwashing it weekly is best.
To keep your filter functioning as efficiently as possible, it’s important to make sure you’re keeping clean sand in your filter. Our professional technicians at Freedom Pool Service will:
Replacing the sand in your filter is somewhat risky because damage to the filter can occur.
